This figurine was issued by Precious Moments to commemorate the 1992 National Day of Prayer. It depicts a boy in patriotic dress, kneeling down to pray beside his bible.
A National Day of Prayer has been recognized in the US since 1952. In 1988 it was officially set as the first Thursday in May. A special 9" tall version of this figurine was presented on May 2, 1991 to President George H. Bush by Precious Moments artist Sam Butcher.
Only issued for the one year, this figurine bears the 1991 production mark of the vessel and comes in the original box.
