The Saddle Steps Cameo is one of twelve miniatures in the David Winter Cameo Collection. It was introduced in 1992 and retired in 1995.
Saddles Steps were used in many English villages as an aid to mounting a horse. Ladies and ‘athletically challenged’ men would climb the steps to be at the same height as their saddle. They were also used to load and unload heavy goods from carts.
This piece measures just 2” tall and comes in the original box with the certificate of authenticity.
To complete the Cameo Collection, there is a special diorama (display) designed to present the miniatures to the best effect.
