There are 3 primary artists involved in the creation of a figurine; the artist who inspires the figurine, the artist who sculpts the figurine and the artist who paints the figurine. We have decided to highlight some of these artists, providing insight into their lives and their work.
Goebel has a long history of producing quality figurines, based on the artwork of many different artists, but are best known for their Hummel figurines. Hummel figurines are based on the artwork of Sister M.I. Hummel. However, Berta Hummel was not the only Hummel that Goebel partnered with.

Gerhard Skrobek was born in Leobschutz, Upper Silesia on May 22, 1922. His parents, Günther and Edith Kornblum Skrobek, who had an interest in music and the arts, moved to Berlin when Gerhard was still young.
